Palm Valley was the first course built at Sun City Summerlin, opening in 1989, designed by Greg Nash with golf legend Billy Casper.

Design philosophy
Nash and Casper used heavy bunkering — 68 in all — as Palm Valley's primary defense, making it the sternest test of the three Golf Summerlin courses.
