Bear's Best Las Vegas opened in 2001 — a Jack Nicklaus concept course on which he handpicked and recreated 18 of his most celebrated holes from designs around the world, including holes drawn from Las Campanas, La Paloma, and the PGA West Tournament Course. Golf Digest awarded it 4½ stars.

The concept is the design: Nicklaus selected eighteen of his own best holes from courses worldwide and rebuilt them, in sequence, on one Summerlin site.
