SouthWood Golf Club is Fred Couples's collaborative design with Gene Bates in the hills south of Tallahassee — a 7,070-yard layout that earned national recognition as one of America's best new courses upon its 1999 opening. The rolling North Florida terrain gives the course an elevation character uncommon in the state, and the Couples design instinct for playability over punishment makes it as enjoyable as it is challenging.
